St. Supery Estate Vineyards and Winery, situated in the picturesque Rutherford sub-appellation of Napa Valley, California, has been a prominent figure on Napa’s renowned Highway 29 since its establishment in 1989. Founded by Robert Skalli, a winemaking enthusiast with a rich family heritage in the wine industry, St. Supery has carved a distinct niche for itself.

Skalli’s journey from Corsica to Napa Valley led to the acquisition of the expansive Dollarhide estate, a sprawling 1500-acre cattle ranch in the northeast corner of Napa Valley in 1982. Additionally, he purchased 56 acres in Rutherford, where the winery was constructed, and the first vintage of St. Supery graced the wine world in 1989.

The Dollarhide ranch, now transformed, spans 500 acres and predominantly features Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc vines, complemented by various Bordeaux varietals and a small Chardonnay parcel. The varying elevations (600 to 1100 feet) and diverse soil types across the property contribute to unique flavor profiles within each vineyard block, adding depth to the final blends. The smaller Rutherford property focuses on Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.

St. Supery’s wine portfolio is a testament to its commitment to estate-grown grapes. The Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend Elu and the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend Virtu stand as flagship offerings. The Single Vineyard collection showcases the distinct terroir of each plot within the Dollarhide Ranch. Additionally, the estate offers a range of entry-level wines, known for their fruit-forward and approachable nature in their youth.

In 2015, the Skalli family passed the torch to fashion giant Chanel, marking a new chapter in St. Supery’s storied history while ensuring its enduring legacy in crafting exceptional Napa Valley wines.
