In 2000, inspired by his agricultural upbringing, Paul Hobbs established CrossBarn as a tribute to his family’s farming heritage, alongside his eponymous winery founded in 1991. Situated in Sebastopol, California, CrossBarn Winery occupies a converted apple processing facility. Demonstrating a commitment to sustainable practices, CrossBarn meticulously tends to its vineyards, reflecting a deep respect for the land and a dedication to quality. Emphasizing a labor-intensive yet straightforward approach to winemaking, the winery hand-harvests its grapes at night, meticulously sorting each berry or cluster. They ferment each vineyard separately and utilize a combination of stainless steel and limited new oak for aging.
